Degree in Literature and Master of Science in Publishing in New York, he is Cavaliere del Lavoro. In 1988 he joined the Longanesi Group as Marketing Director and then General Manager and Managing Director; in 2005 he founded the Mauri Spagnol publishing group, of which he has been Chairman and Managing Director since the year of its foundation. He is Chairman of Messaggerie Italiane and Vice-Chairman of the Umberto e Elisabetta Mauri Foundation. Among other positions, he is Chairman and Managing Director of Bollati Boringhieri and Managing Director of Longanesi and Garzanti. He is the creator of the IoScrittore online literary tournament and is one of the founders of Edigita, the leading distributor of ebooks in Italian. He is the Italian representative of the Italian Publishers Association (AIE) at the Assembly of the Federation of European Publishers (FEE- FEP).
