Giovanni Brizzi is professor emeritus of the Alma Mater Studiorum-University of Bologna. He taught in Sassari and Udine. He was professor in 1993/94 and then again in 2005, at the Sorbonne. Officier in the French Order of the Palmes Académiques. Prize “Mario di Nola” 1999 of the Accademia dei Lincei. Full member of the Academy of Sciences of Bologna.President of the Deputation of Homeland History for the provinces of Romagna. Director of the “Rivista Storica dell’Antichità”. He collaborates with newspapers, periodicals and radio and television newspapers. He is a specialist in Roman history and ancient military history.
