Evelina Santangelo

Evelina Santangelo was born in Palermo. At Einaudi he published in 2000 the collection of short stories The blind eye of the world (with which he won the awards Berto, Fiesole, Mondello prima, Chiara, Gandovere-Franciacorta), and the novels The emerald-colored lizard (2003), The day of the flying bears (2005), Senzaterra (2008), Cose da pazzi (2012), Non va sempre così (2015) and Da un altro mondo (2018, book of the year of the broadcast Fahrenheit Rai-Radio3, Premio Feudo di Maida, Superpremio Sciascia-Racalmare, Premio Pozzale Luigi Russo). In 2023, again for Einaudi, the narrative reportage Il sentimento del mare was published. His stories have appeared in the anthologies Deserters and Girls You Should Know (Einaudi Stile Libero, 2000 and 2004), Blue Princesses 2 (Oscar Mondadori, 2004) and Deandreide (Rizzoli Bur, 2006), Wounds (Einaudi, 2021). With the story Presenze he participated in the anthology L’agenda ritrovata. Sette racconti per Paolo Borsellino (Feltrinelli, 2017). He also translated Sam Savage’s Firmino, Tom Stoppard’s Rock’n’roll, and edited Vincenzo Rabito’s Terra matta.
