The Visual Arts in Taobuk: the Mediterranean as a crossroads of identity.

Il Mediterraneo come crocevia di identità.

Exhibition project Luigi Ontani. Le Ore in collaboration with MAXXI, the City of Taormina, Enel, the Oelle Mediterraneo Antico Foundation and the manifesto Taobuk 2024 designed by Arnaldo Pomodoro: The Mediterranean as a crossroads of identity.

“Sea between lands” and meeting point for peoples and cultures, the Mediterranean region is a synthesis of cultural syncretism and guardian of an intangible heritage that animates the contemporary artistic imagination.
This is confirmed by the choices made by Taobuk for the 14th edition.

“In line with the strong vocation of the festival for the visual arts – emphasizes Antonella Ferrara, president and artistic director – the program dedicates to Luigi Ontani a new exhibition project in the spaces of Palazzo Corvaja that, from 23 June to 28 July, will host, thanks to the renewed collaboration with MAXXI in Rome, the exhibition project Le Ore. Luigi Ontani. At the same time, we pay tribute with the Taobuk Award to the genius of Arnaldo Pomodoro, author of the manifesto L’Antenna del Tempo, linked to the 2024 concept, Identità. So we give course to two prestigious collaborations of which we are particularly proud”.

Saturday 22 at 12:30, at Palazzo Corvaja, will be inaugurated the exhibition project The Hours. Luigi Ontani (1975), curated by MAXXI Med and Taobuk Festival in collaboration with the City of Taormina, Enel and Fondazione Oelle Mediterraneo Antico

Manifesto di Taobuk 2024, the work of Maestro Pomodoro reflects the contaminations that make the Mediterranean, still today, a dynamic crossroads of cultural syncretism.
