Fernando Aramburu

Fernando Aramburu, born in San Sebastián in 1959, studied Hispanic Philology at the University of Zaragoza and in the 1990s moved to Germany to teach Spanish. Since 2009 he has left teaching to devote himself to writing and journalistic collaborations. Patria, a great success for critics and audiences in Spain, winner of the Premio de la Crítica, translated into 34 languages, was published in 2017 by Guanda and has also had an extraordinary reception in Italy, winning the European Witch Prize and the International Literary Prize Giuseppe Tomasi of Lampedusa. In 2020, Guanda published a graphic novel inspired by the novel. His other books were also published for Guanda: Anni lenti, Dopo le fiamme, Mariluz and his strange adventures, Il rumore di quest’epoca and I rondoni. The last novel published in Italy in 2023 is Figli della favola.
