Maria Tripodi

Born in Melito di Porto Salvo (RC) on 21 July 1982, she graduated in International and Community Political Studies with a specialization in International Relations at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. In July 2022 he obtained a Master’s degree in Economic Security, Geopolitics and Intelligence from SIOI (Società Italiana per l’Organizzazione Internazionale).

She was a member of the Italian Society of Military History (SISM) and worked as a consultant for public and private bodies.

In the political field, he began his career as a member of Forza Italia Giovani in 2005, holding various roles in the coordination of election campaigns. In 2007 she was elected to the Youth Forum of the Lazio Region and in 2010 she was appointed National Head of the Organization Sector of the Blue Youth Movement.

Subsequently, in 2011 she was elected Deputy National Secretary of the Italian Youth of the European People’s Party in Brussels and in 2014 she was a candidate for the European Parliament in the Southern Italy constituency.

Since 2015 she has been a member of the Council of Presidents of the YEPP (Youth European People Party), which includes 64 youth organisations of centre-right political parties from 40 European countries.

In 2018 she was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in the lists of Forza Italia and subsequently appointed Leader of Forza Italia in the Permanent Commission IV Defense of Montecitorio. In 2019 she was appointed a member of the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry into the death of Giulio Regeni.

In the general elections of 2022 she was a candidate for the Senate of the Republic and is the first of the non-elected of the Forza Italia List in the Collegio Plurinominale Calabria. On 31 October 2022 she was appointed Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Meloni Government by the Council of Ministers.
